IBM has joined LEAD Network as a Foundation Partner
We are delighted to announce that IBM has joined LEAD Network as a Foundation Partner sponsored by Elaine Parr – a LEAD Network Champion from the outset – Vice President of Consumer Industries across EMEA at IBM. We thank Elaine, EMEA D&I Leader Clare Stephens, the EMEA Managing Partner Neil McCormack, and #TeamIBM for their intentional commitment to the LEAD Network mission to attract retain and advance women in the retail and consumer goods industry in Europe through education, leadership, and business development.
Elaine says that “IBM is known as the largest technology and services company in the world. We have been perpetually reinventing ourselves since 1911, defining the future of IT and building industry-based solutions to real-world problems. I am delighted to celebrate IBM joining LEAD Network as a Foundation partner and look forward to working with LEAD Network as your Digital Partner.”
Clare added, “IBM has been a leader in corporate diversity and inclusion for decades. In 1935, IBM CEO Thomas Watson Sr. made it clear that at IBM, Men and women will do the same kind of work for equal pay. It was nearly 30 years before the US Equal Pay Act”.
Neil concluded, with reference to IBM’s latest Diversity & Inclusion report: “I echo Carla Grant Pickens, our Chief Diversity Officer, IBM has a rich heritage indeed in diversity and inclusion, yet we are still learning, growing, and making progress.” What we need IBM and all other employers is to mirror the societies that they serve. He adds how proud and grateful he is to see IBMers of this era build on IBM’s legacy, committed to creating a truly inclusive workplace. “We aim to be the gold standard in Good Tech, leading positive change in the world. Stepping up to partner with LEAD Network is a clear sign of this commitment in the retail and consumer goods industry in Europe.”
